I am now retired, since June 30, 2004. As an academic, I participated actively in all three areas of academic responsibility: teaching, research, and service. Usually. I maintained a normal distribution of load at 40/40/20 percent over my entire career, except during the time (1989-94) when I was associate dean, when I did not teach, and my service/administrative load was over 60%.
