Equipment Used
To take our images we use:
- a 40 cm telescope,
- two ST6 CCD
cameras - one for
image capture, one for tracking,
- AstroJ software to capture images and
focus - a variation of ImageJ
altered by Jennifer West,
- CCDOPS software for tracking,
and
- Earth Centered Universe planetarium software for precessing
coordinates
All of the above is located at the Glenlea Astronomical Observatory, south
of Winnipeg at laitude 49o 38' 43"
and longitude 97o 07' 20".
For image processing and analysis we use:
- IRAF
image processing software
- SAOimage ds9 image display tool, and
- The GIMP image manipulation
software,
for screen captures and resizing images so that they fit on a
webpage.
