These are thumbnail explorations of colour pallettes, orientations and croppings created by the attendees of visualization workshop in Oxford, UK. Participants came from the Departments of Physics,Mathematics and the local amateur astronomical society. One attendee brought their own data. The demonstration used black and white jpegs of the galaxy NGC 1690 from the Virgo Cluster Survey taken with MegaCam on the Canada France Hawaii telescope.

"... having never run Gimp I felt quite pleased with this attempt. I feel the two stars upper left point towards the main galaxy and you look down in to it. I will try again looking to make less green and try to bring out centre structure more."
